Generating a Roadmap

Overview​

You're doing great so far! You've got your user personas and their a ssociated pains and user stories. Now, it's time to weave all these threads into a roadmap. This guide will help you create a roadmap that's populated with epics and features, all tailored to your user personas.

Prerequisites​

Before you proceed with generating a roadmap, make sure you've created all the necessary user personas and user stories. The roadmap will only generate if these elements are already in place.

Process​

Step 1: Generate Features from User Personas​

  • Navigate to the User Personas Tab: If you're not already there, click on the "User Personas" tab within your project.
  • Click on "Generate Features from User Personas": You'll find this blue button in the top right corner of the User Personas tab. Clicking this will initiate the process of generating features based on your user personas.

Step 2: Access Your Roadmap​

  • Click on the "Roadmap" Tab: Once the features are generated, navigate to the "Roadmap" tab in your project.
  • Wait for Epics and Features to Appear: This might take a few seconds. Once they're visible, you'll see a list of Epics.

Step 3: Explore Your Epics​

  • View Epics: Each Epic will have a "Detailed view" button in green. Clicking this will give you more information about the Epic.

  • Inside the Epic: Here, you'll find a list of features associated with the Epic.

Feature Buttons Explained​

  • View Feature Details: This green button allows you to see the user stories, as well as functional and non-functional requirements for the selected feature. The details will appear in tables below the feature.
  • Generate Reqs: Clicking this blue button will automatically generate functional and non-functional requirements for the feature. (Note: We'll dive deeper into requirements in another section of this tutorial.)

And there you have it! You've successfully generated a roadmap filled with Epics and Features. Everything is organized to work around deliverables in an agile manner, setting you up for a streamlined development process.
